Luxor
The Luxor is located at the south end of the Strip. The entire hotel has an Eygptian theme and is shaped like a giant pyramid.

| By: tess The $20 was not returned to me and I was given the 8th flr of the east tower. After I made it through the maze to the east tower elevator, and the next maze from the elevator to the room, I discovered a very drab, regular room, with low ceilings, low lighting and a view of the roof and excal. I returned to the desk and insisted on another room, was moved to 20th floor of Pyramid, which was better.. but not an upgrade. The rooms need renovating, won't stay there again. | ||||||||||

Checked-in Aug 13th, late at night, baggage lost and so tired..I wasn't sure about success,but I tried your tip: greetings, a smile, id and 20 $ to the boy at the reception, asking if there was a chance for an upgrading. He told me to wait a moment to check and answered yes, he could give us a Pyramid Spa Suite, if we agreed...sure we did! Then he asked if I wanted to change the 20$ in smaller bills, but I told him it was for his kindness: he was happy and so were my boyfriend and I. Thank you for your advice! | ||||||||||
| By: Charlotte We went to check in at 11:00 and the line was a little long and no one was in the VIP line. So, I told my boyfriend to stay in the regular line and I would see if the guy at the VIP desk would check me in. I went over and he checked to see if I was on the VIP list, which I didn't expect to be. He said I was not but he would help me anyway. I slid my credit card, ID, and $20 across the desk and asked, "Would it be possible to get a complimentary upgrade?" He said he didn't see why not and he didn't take the money. When we left the desk I pushed the $20 off the counter and onto his desk. He said, "Thank you." I will definitely try this trick every time.... the room was well worth it! | ||||||||||
