| By: Matt Checked in to the IP at about 8:00 am on a Saturday morning. Gave the clerk my credit card, license, and a crisp $20. She IMMEDIATELY said that she could lose her job if she accepted the money. | ||||||||||
| By: Big EZ Yo yo I thought this site was going to be bunk, but to my surprise, the sandwich trick was stupendous! I slipped the sandy in between my ID and credit card and poliely asked the gal if there were any complimentary upgrades available. She put the $20 aside checked the availability and then said yes sir we have a suite for you! I will most def be using the sandy trick in all my future visits to Vegas! | ||||||||||
| By: Mitch I have to say, this worked like a charm. I was originally booked for a Deluxe room, and when I proceeded with the trick, the receptionist smiled and gladly upgraded me to a mini-suite. Well worth it since I was staying for five nights.. it worked out to $4 extra per day.. I'll take it! | ||||||||||
| By: Jason Checked in (with Dory- female, maybe in her 40s-50s) around 10:30am Sunday morning. I questioned if there were any complimentary upgrades available and was quickly shot down. She was very courteous, and even social about the whole thing. They are being monitored for this and also spot checked, it will cost them their job. | ||||||||||
| By: Lena Handed the clerk the sandwich and politely asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. His eyes lit up and, after speaking to a woman whom I assumed was his supervisor, handed me the room keys to my suite. Awesome. | ||||||||||
| By: Daniel T. Room wasn't anything special but it was newly furnished. I don't know what the regular rooms look like in the IP but this one was clean and nice. The guy at the desk said he could have given us a Luv Tub room, but only with one bed. We needed two. | ||||||||||
| By: David Gamboa My girlfriend and I checked in to the Palace Station hotel on Thursday April 9. We had booked the courtyard room for 4 nights at an incredible rate of $25 per night. I politely asked the gentleman at the desk if there were any upgrades available. After about 1 minute of checking on his computer, he quickly upgraded us to a tower room on the top floor overlooking the strip. It was one of the quickest check-ins we ever had. I told him thank you and handed him a 20. He quickly grabbed the bill and put it out of sight. "Thank you sir, enjoy your stay" | ||||||||||
| By: Barbara Slipped a $20 to the clerk and was offered an upgrade to a mini-Suite with a HUGE tub for all 3 nights. The room would normally have cost $70-$90 extra per night. Worked like a charm! | ||||||||||
| By: davlor We checked in early, around 11 AM. I handed the Expedia receipt to the receptionist, and with a $20 plus my IDs in my hand, I asked if there was any way we could get an upgrade. She searched and got us what she referred to as a Luv Tub Suite, though I believe it's a Deluxe Luv Tub room. Since we were checking in early the room wasn't ready yet, but they held it for us. She seemed genuinely happy to get the $20, and we were genuinely happy to get the room (which was actually pretty nice), so it was a good experience all around. | ||||||||||
| By: M D Back from a week at IP. Tried the $20 Trick upon check-in on Friday, Sept 5th. Handed the clerk the ID, CC $20 sandwich. The 40 year old Asian female clerk looked around and told me she couldn't get me in a suite as my stay was 7 nights, and it began on a Friday Night, nothing available. She did get me a poolside room and gave the $20 back, apologizing for not being able to help. I flipped her $5 and told her thanks for trying. On Monday, I decided that I would try again, as the weekend was over. Went to the desk, told the clerk (a different 40 year old Asian female), that we were having a great time, and wondered if they had any upgrades available, while I had a $20 bill on the counter, sticking out from under my ID. She looked around on the computer and said that an upgrade to a suite would cost $100/night, as I didn't have enough play on my TR card. At that moment, I place another $20 under my ID, and asked what other options I had. Her tune changed. She said she needed to call the casino host and check with her supervisor. After multiple phone calls, trips to the back room, and typing away on her computer, she said "We can do that for you". I thanked her and told her the $40 was for her. I then went and moved all the luggage from the old room to the new: a King deluxe suite! What a nice 4 night upgrade for $40. A bedroom with 1 king bed, huge roman tub, bathroom, and seperate living room with wetbar, and fold out couch and chairs. Both rooms had a balcony looking at the strip. So initially, the $20 trick didn't work, as the first 3 nights of our stay were on the weekend. Then, it worked (as a $40 trick), for a 4 night upgrade from a deluxe room to a king deluxe suite. Overall, I'd call it a success! | ||||||||||
| By: Dank Upgraded- but for only one of five nights- | ||||||||||
| By: June The desk clerk told me i already had an upgraded room and that for $50 dollars a night I could upgrade to a lub tub room. We didn't bother, our deluxe room was just fine. | ||||||||||
| By: P Slipped the $20 under the CC and DL. Asked if any "complimentary upgrades" were available. The gentleman at the front desk knew what was up, and after a brief chuckle, he upgraded our room. We were friendly with him and in return, he was friendly with us. | ||||||||||
| By: mjg Worked like a charm, checked in on 4/8 and checked out on 4/11, slipped a crisp $ 20 in the middle of my CC and DL, the clerk sat it aside as he searched the system. Walked away for a brief moment to check with mgmt and came back with the good news... Entire stay was a comp stay, the upgrade was really nice... | ||||||||||
| By: jsw Friday late afternoon. I handed a $20 between my DL and CC and asked if there were any upgrades. Clerk refused the tip, but did take my choice as to where in the building I wanted and said she was giving me one close to the elevator. | ||||||||||
