Caesars Palace has drawn the high rollers and celeberities since its opening in 1966. It is an 80 acre resort that is located in the center of the strip.

| By: Tim Booked a standard room in Roman Tower. Read horrible reviews about that Tower. Had a long wait at check-in. Was going to be stuck with a female desk clerk who appeared to be in her 30s. Waited so long, they opened a new line, with a male clerk in his 20s. $20 trick worked like a charm, no problem at all. Augustus Tower room was huge, with a huge bathroom, and great view of the pool and the Strip. It worked for me! | ||||||||||
| By: Me and 6 of my friends went down to vegas for the weekend to celebrate my 21st birthday, once we got to the hotel which was pretty early for check in we still tried our luck to see if we can get our rooms, a friend and I were sharing a room together and when we walked up to the counter to check in we were greeted very nicely as he asked me for my id and cc i slipped a $50 bill between it he took the bill placed it beside his keyboard and started typing at sonic speed to see if he could get us me an upgrade all i had it say was i would prefer the best suite you have! He then told me that he had a room in the Augustus tower facing the Bellagio fountains, but we would need to wait about an hour and a half to get the room I gladly accepted the offer while we had 2 other rooms to hang out in, I finally got my keys to the room and was very impressed with what we got. The service at the hotel was good and I will be back for sure! | ||||||||||
| By: Fleeman Couple THIS WORKS AND IS AMAZING!!! I had 3 rooms upgraded from Classics to the Augustus tower with Bellagio Fountian views!!! All for ONE $20 tip!!!! It may have helped that I was getting married and I definitly used that to my benefit. Rooms were huge with amazing bathroom (Jacuzzi tubs and glass shower). I'm SO glad I did this!!! | ||||||||||
| By: Tiffany Both my dad and I tried this with two different people at the same time. Both of us were upgraded to rooms in the Augustus tower, the bathrooms were amazing with a huge shower and separate Jacuzzi tub. His floor was 2 above mine but the same room type, both with excellent views. | ||||||||||
| By: thadoodabides Booked 4 night stay in Classic (the worst available) Room through Expedia. Arrived around Noon and the lobby was MOBBED. After waiting about 45 mins we got a woman in her mid 30's, I slipped a $20 between my ID and CC and asked if any upgrades were available. She told me to hold onto the money and she'd check. It happened to be my birthday the last day of the stay, she wished me a happy birthday and said she couldn't take the tip because she was the manager, but she moved us to Palace Tower Deluxe Room near the pools. | ||||||||||
| By: Rick We (4 young thirty year old guys - look more like mid-late 20s) had read and prepared for the $20 dollar trick but had our doubts. We had 2 double rooms prebooked for 4 nights in the older tower of Caesar's and, if necessary, wanted to upgrade to either 1 suite or 2 rooms in the newer tower. Anyway it was late (12:00am) on Wed night and I approached the girl (she was one of 2 people working the desk) and had a twenty wrapped around my credit card. I asked for any complimentary upgrades after she looked up our reservations. She said that they have to charge for any upgrades but she'd see what she could do. We ended up paying about a $110 a night more for a 1 bedroom suite with attached 2nd room in the newer Forum tower with no view. They also threw in 4 entrance passes for 2 days worth of entry to their spa (Qua baths) which we didnt' use. | ||||||||||
| By: Gino Every time I've been to vegas I've always made sure to tip everybody...The dealers, the valet, the bellhops etc. Never once had it crossed my mind to throw some dough at the Front Desk Booked the room on the wednesday before the friday we were going to take off and was getting myself pumped after reading all the stories of the "$20 Sandwich Trick" I kept telling my girlfriend what I was going to do and she was convinced I was just going to be wasting my cash Checked in around 2pm on a friday and the line was huge. While we were waiting I was watching as the line passed(pretty quick by the way) and I was hoping to get one of the younger Clerks. One thing I noticed that I never had before was how NOBODY tipped the desk clerks...I thought, wow...they all get looked over compared to everyone else in the hotel. Well, I ended up gettin a younger guy in his 20's...gave him my sandwiched 20...told him this was my first time staying at caesars with my girlfriend and that the last time I stayed there my room was facing another roof and air conditioner units but I didn't mind cuz i was with guys...I told him I was trying to make this trip special. WORKED LIKE A CHARM. The guy was nothing but excited to help us into an upgraded room. Went from a reservation in the old centurion tower into the augustus tower...if you search goolge images, you can get an idea of what kind of upgrade the $20 got us. I recommend this trick to anyone staying in vegas and looking for a quick upgrade. It will be the best $20 you spend If your still hesitant, find me on facebook and ask me... | By: Robert Arrived early for check in but happened to arrive at the exact same time as hundreds of guys there for the National Steel Workers Union convention (or something like that). Literally a 2 hour line up; as we stood in line (I guess looking like we didn't belong) a staff member pulled us to the side and offered us a spa day pass and suggested we return later after all the conventioneers had checked in. We took advantage of his offer and returned later. Walked up to a guy in his mid-20's, very friendly guy, passed him my passport, credit card and $50. He asked how I was and I explained that we'd been there a few hours earlier and had been told to come back later. I said that it's been a great day in the spa but we really wanted to get into our room because my (obviously pregnant) wife was tired. He said "Let me see what I can do". While he was looking at the screen I asked if we could get into the Augustus tower so that my wife wouldn't have to walk through the smokey casino all the time to get to our room. He said "Of course Dr. _______" and handed me my info/key. Got up to the room and almost fell over when we walked in....... 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, 1550 sq ft of luxury over looking the strip. What a great stay....... | ||||||||||
| By: Spoiledtcangel We checked in yesterday Caesars Palace For 7 days, young guy maybe late 20's, I did it a little different though I had the bill folded in my hand just enough where he can see it handed him just the CC & ID, and all I asked for was a view. We were booked in a forum tower regular room comped, he gave us a palace tower petite suite (very cute huge closet space 2 bathrooms joined by a dual glass shower, huge jacuzzi bath tub for 2, king bed, couches ect) when i signed the paper i slipped it under and handed it back to him he said thank you ma'am (even though were the same age group lol) and I was on my way Edit/Delete Message | ||||||||||
| By: G Money I thought this was a joke but thought "what is the harm in trying it out". My gf and I went from a Sunday-Thursday, we checked in around 1030pm. I just put my visa and id on the counter and right beside it I placed a 20 bill down and asked for a complimentary upgrade. He smiled and checked, I then put another 20 bill down and asked specifically for a room in the Agustise Tower. Immediately he asked if overlooking the Belagio fountains would do. I graciously accepted and our room was nothing short of AMAZING!! | ||||||||||
| By: Alan Ledgerwood Showed the receptionist the money while asking for a complimentary upgrade and then gave it to him discreetly once we obtained the upgrade. Fantastic for a 7 night stay | ||||||||||
| By: Mtnchic Booked standard room on hotwire for 2 nights so I was already getting a decent deal, but thought to try anyway. Handed $20 bill sandwiched between CC and DL to man around 30-35yrs old at the front desk. I asked if there were any complementary upgrades available in Augustus Tower. He took the $20 and left it in plain view on the counter and said he would see what he could do. We were very pleased with our room, spacious, great view, well worth it!! | ||||||||||
| By: Joe Heck of an upgrade for a four night stay. Clerk was very appreciative of the gratuity. | ||||||||||
| By: Brent P Couldnt believe it worked. It was awesome. Slid over the 20 with a smile and asked if there were any complementary upgrades available. The lady behind the counter took it in stride. At no time was it awkward. If it was her first time seeing the trick done, Id never know. | ||||||||||
| By: Joey C. 4 night/5 day stay, Sat - Wed, Checked in about 3:00PM, the line was long so we had time to size up the clerks. We had 4 in our room- 2 of us put in $15, the other 2 put in $10. So we approached the desk with a $50 bill in hand. We decided to try it out with whichever clerk we got (except for this one guy with a white jacket, he looked like a supervisor or manager). It's only by CHANCE that we got the clerk we preferred (if choosing was an option)- a young, tall guy who off of appearance alone was much more charismatic with his customers than the other clerks were, more especially the female ones who seemed to never look up from the computer. I booked a standard room on Expedia. I can't remember if it was the Palace or Forum Towers but I approached the desk knowing exactly what I wanted- and that was to be in the AUGUSTUS TOWER! First words out of my mouth were 'Hey man, how's it going?' he said, 'Great, what name is the room booked under?' I told him the name and said, 'Is there any chance you could get us into the Augustus Tower?' He smiled/smirked when he saw the $50 (which was purposely NOT sandwiched) and said something to the effect of 'Look at you guys and your tricks' and was immediately motivated to see what he could do for us. The $50 was not concealed in any way- he left it laying out next to his keyboard and was very friendly while tapping furiously at his keyboard. Don't bother having anxiety about the transaction because it was apparent immediately that this is common practice. He said we were early, which was good- but finding a room with 2 queens might make it difficult. He asked if we minded a smoking room, since that was the best he had available looking at the computer. None of us smoke or have a high tolerance for people who do so I asked 'How bad is it?' He said, 'In AUGUSTUS- not bad at all.' He was right- the only difference between that room and a non smoking room was the ashtray in the room- it didn't smell of smoke at all!! We were on the 26th floor, right next to the elevator. This turned out to be VERY convenient since the elevators were quiet and there was minimal traffic if any on our floor. In 5 days I don’t think I ever saw anyone besides housecleaning in the hallways. The room was extremely spacious with an amazing bathroom which included a TV, Jacuzzi, separate toilet, etc. Last but not least our view was of the Strip and Bellagio Fountains which served as a great backdrop throughout our stay. Higher floors might’ve had a tad better view- but there is something to be said for being the first off the elevator every time you get on with 4-5 other guests. Long story short- it was easily the best money that me or my friends spent while in Vegas!! | ||||||||||
| By: Amy We arrived around 11 a.m. on a Friday and the line was only 10 deep. We got a younger female who was happy to look for upgrades just by us asking. I commented on how fast she was typing and her response was "we are competing for rooms". This tells me they are competing to upgrade people and make some extra cash for themselves. My boyfriend then made the cash, cc and DL visible. I don't even think she noticed the cash and hooked us up with an upgrade anyway. We gave her the $20 and she gracefully slipped it into her pocket..no words exchanged. Our upgrade was not ready, but they took his cell number and called about 2 hours later. In the meantime, we stored our luggage in our friends room. We ended up with an upgrade from Classic Tower to Augustus with a clear view of the Bellagio Fountains. The room was nice with a huge jacuzzi bathtub. Bed was really comfy! | ||||||||||
| By: Katie Gave the girl a $20 tip and requested a room upgrade. She asked me which tower I preferred and because I had already studied the room types, I knew the Agustus Tower was the newest. We were given a deluxe room with views of the Bellagio Fountains. | ||||||||||
| By: Ryan Initially asked for a complimentary upgrade and was told there was nothing available. The guy then took a look up and to see the 20 on the desk and went to the back to take a look. We were given a room in the palace tower. We were told the room was twice as big, had a plasma screen, jacuzzi tub...a $150 value per night. Overall a good experience and the person who helped us was very appreciative of the tip. | ||||||||||
| By: George Choa I initially tried to check in at around 11am tried the 20 dollar trick with a white female in her 40-50's and right off the bat she told me there would be extra charge for a upgrade, showed the 20$ and still would not budge. I decided to wait til 2pm to check in and was attended by a black female in her late 20's early 30's, showed the tip and asked for a comp upgrade and she gave me the palace tower in a high floor room. If you get denied a upgrade you might as well wait a hour or two and try again later, worked for me. | ||||||||||
| By: Todd Had a very nice front desk attendant when we checked in. I cannot remember her name, but after having a long conversation I asked if she had any upgrades for rooms. She looked over, and did, and said she could get us the best room possible, without charging more. She actually didn't want the tip, but I insisted. Room was awesome, with a perfect view of the pool. Not to mention, a perfect view of the Euopean Style bathing area....Very nice if I do say so myself. Can't wait to try this again in September when I go back. | ||||||||||
| By: RandomIan Did everything as per the site, and it worked like a charm!! We booked a standard room on Expedia.ca and when I went to check in, I just slipped the $20 between the cards, and chatted to the girl for a little and next thing I know, the room was upgraded!! Jack and Jill Bathrooms, Jacuzzi tub, Floor to Ceiling windows!! WOW best thing we could have done while in Vegas!! | ||||||||||
| By: aj totally worth it. got a quick upgrade. As like everyone else was very skeptical about it, but was happy that i tried the $20. they didnt make a big fuss out of it. they calmly upgrade my room two levels up! | ||||||||||
| By: B Checked in around 9:30 p.m. Had two rooms booked so gave two $20's to the guy and asked for comp upgrades. Explained it was a bachelorette party and asked if we could get two suites next to each other or one big suite. He typed around a long time and made a phone call. Finally gave us a penthouse room for the first night and then two Place Tower suites next to each other the other two nights. Rooms were great! | ||||||||||
| By: Murray While I was not as successful as the person before me, the nice lady at the desk named Rebecca was more than willing to do her part to find me an upgrade. We needed the extra space as there were three of us. At first she offered upgrades to suites for 120 per night and I declined and told her it was my first time to vegas and if there was anything complimentry that would be great. She said no complimentry upgrades existed...yet somehow she managed to find me one. She took the twenty dollars and said i could have it back as they work strictly on service not tips at Caesers. All in all...good experience. | ||||||||||
| By: WS Flight was delayed into Vegas so I called ahead to let them know I will be arriving late out of courtesy. Checked in to Caesars at about 830pm. My girlfriend and I were the only ones checking in. Young (early 20s) female checked us in. As I handed her $20 showing between ID and credit card I asked if there were any "complimentary upgrades" she didn't even see the $20 and checked for anything available. There was a "smoking optional" (only downside) 800sq ft suite available. When she looked up to see if I wanted it and saw the $20 she automatically pushed it back but I insisted she take it anyway. The suite had a king bed, sofa, flat screen tv, glass enclosed double shower, jacuzzi tub, his and her bathrooms, make-up area, view of the pool on the 26th floor. Anything above that were the card-accessed suites. $20 trick definitely worked! | ||||||||||
| By: BethH Checked in and showed on ID that it was my birthday along with the $20. Got upgraded to Frank Sinatra Piano Suite. 1400 sq ft room, 2 stories high room with balcony overlooking livingroom, wet bar and grand piano. Three bathrooms, marble steps entryway- amazing! | ||||||||||
| By: Barry Taylor We were comped 5 nights in Forum Tower Deluxe room at Caesars. At check in I did exactly as this site instructs and placed the $20 bill between ID and Credi Card. Very nice young female desk clerk at first said she didn't think they had anything. Then I told her we were celebrating my wife's birthday and she said perhaps she could find something. She ask if an 800 sq ft suite in the Palace Tower would do? We agreed and off we went to our room. Suite was very nice, clean and roomy overlooking the pool area. Enormous double bathroom with garden tub, bidet, large double shower with door from either side. The $20 trick worked like a charm. Thanks for the tip!! | ||||||||||
| By: Sarah Booked Caesars Palace through Hotwire for $99 per night. Gave desk clerk tip between credit card and license and asked if there is anything available in Augustus Tower. She said "I'll sure check for you" and within minutes we were on the way to the Augustus Deluxe room, with view of the Bellagio fountains. A great deal for the price- the room had wonderful linens and a very large jacuzzi tub. Another plus- Augustus elevators are just a few steps from the main entrance and valet. | ||||||||||
| By: BR I was a bit hesitant because the front desk person seemed in a bad mood. But once we sympathized for her having such a rough, busy day it brightened her mood. I slipped her the $20, asked for the upgrade, and it worked like a charm! | ||||||||||
| By: the boy Me and my mate tried this as we have heard about it. So we decided to be kind as we wanted a fantastic upgrade. As soon as we handed over the money slipped underneath my CC she took the money and then called security for apparently blackmailing her into giving us an upgrade and we had to leave and we lost all the nights we had booked there, so in the end we had to fork out to pay for a room a night at the flamingo. Also has anyone heard if this works at planet hollywood as we are attempting to go back again in august and give this a whirl again. | ||||||||||
| By: Terra Found this website about a month before we were going to Vegas. Was going to my first trip and definitely wanted to have a great time! Found out that the classic rooms were the oldest at Caesar's and knew that wouldn't do. Booked the trip with another couple and they decided to try for an upgrade as well. Check in line wasn't too long, we arrived on Thursday night about 11pm. Check in line was moving very slowly even though very few in line. Slipped the $20 in my passport, the lady checking us in slipped it back to me and said let me see what I can do first. She clicked away on her computer for about 2 minutes and said she could offer us a complimentary upgrade to the Palace tower, which is one of the newer towers. I slipped the $20 back to her after signing the reciept. What a room!!! Two sinks, jacuzzi tub, HUGE HUGE room. Definitely worth the $20. Made my first stay in Vegas unforgettable! | ||||||||||
| By: Phil My first time, worked like a charm. Easy, I was a bit nervous but saw a bunch of youngsters (I'm 47) who I thought $20 would be meaningful for. He said that shouldn't be a problem when I asked THE question and was put in a nice room with a great flat screen tv and a tv on the mirror in the bathroom. Also had two shower heads in the shower, one coming straight down from the ceiling -- much water pressure, reminds me of the showerhead episode for those Seinfeld fans. | ||||||||||
| By: Jimbo1973 I have been to Caesars many times over the years and have found the trick to be effective each and every time! (I have tried it about 6 times)There was one occaision where the check-in clerk set it aside and told me to "wait and see if we actually have anything available". She was training a new girl at the time and I believe it was all for show. She then came through with the mini suite! I love Caesars and will return as often as I can afford.....butI will ALWAYS be able to afford the extra $20...it is well worth it! (and a smile goes a long way!) | ||||||||||
| By: Paul Handed $20 to a young man between my id and cc. I asked if he has any upgrades and he knew exactly what was us. He told me I was given a deluxe room in the Palace Tower instead of my standard room. | ||||||||||
| By: Larry Late Check in (About 10:30 p.m.) Handed the clerk my license, CC and the 20. She asked if I needed change, I said "No", she made a quick phone call and made the switch. Took less than 5 minutes. My guests were amazed. | ||||||||||
| By: Jeff G Did the sandwich and was told that it was frowned upon for them to accept tips from customers. He gave me back the $20 and upgraded us anyways to an Augustus tower room on the 44th floor. I'm sure it helped that we stayed Wednesday - Saturday and there were plenty of available rooms. | ||||||||||
| By: Greg slipped $20 to 60ish female clerk, asked if any upgrade was available- upgraded to palace tower petite suite - beautiful room | ||||||||||
| By: sean Simple, Put $20 on counter and asked if there were any comp room upgrades available , she said she would check and made a quick phone call, got a $2500 worth of room for my origional $1300 booking. Perfect :-)room had jaccsui and mini bar and great strip view. | ||||||||||
| By: Jeremy Got a very nice gentleman at the front desk named Adam. I wrapped the $20 around my credit card and put my license on top (making sure the $20 was still visible. I asked if any complimentary upgrades were available. He disappeared and returned and told me that he had a nice room waiting for us that had a plasma screen television and a jacuzzi hot tub! It was very exciting. This was my first time to try the trick -- next time I will ask for what kind of room I want by name. | ||||||||||
| By: Al 3 rooms for a week each. At checkin handed over $150 for all 3 rooms (2 were on one booking in a relatives name, 1 in mine). Asked for a complimentary upgrade to Augustus or Palace Tower. She gave us Palace Tower, told us all about it, was very grateful. Got some voucher booklets. | ||||||||||
| By: Tom Reserved a cheap "classic room" for $120, but after reading reviews, decided to try the 20 Dollar Trick, although my friend had no idea what I was doing and thought I had lost my mind. Was very friendly to the check-in woman, mentioned we were on our annual trip, but were happy to be staying at Caesars for the first time, I didn't mention an upgrade, but handed her the 20 with my ID and Credit card. She put the 20 aside, typed for a minute, said "I've been able to put you in our new tower overlooking the Bellagio Fountains." I said, "Great, thank you so much." She said, "Thank you for the gratuity" and that was it. Fantastic , spacious room, on the 32nd floor. | ||||||||||
| By: Jack The employee made it clear that they 'never' do this. Couldn't get us into the Augustus tower because it was full but the rehabbed Palace tower room was great with a view of the pool and an enormous bathroom with a jacuzzi. Thanks for the tip!! | ||||||||||
| By: Peter Venkman Worked but not as well as planned. Gave him $50 with license and credit card and asked for the comp upgrade. He gave it back and said he would see what he could do and if I liked it I could give him the tip. Was looking for a larger room with more space, he gave me the deluxe which is bigger but not by much. I should have been more specific and asked for a suite with a full living/tv room. | ||||||||||
| By: Sunny Worked Great! We stayed at Planet Hollywood. I don't see in your hotel list. Put $20 between ID and CC. She smiled and she knew what we were looking for. Put us in 36th floor, Strip view, Fountain few for 3 nights. Recommed everyone to try it. | ||||||||||
| By: Ace Works as advertised! I just made some conversation, put the $20 between my ID and CC, and asked if any complimentary upgrades were available. The clerk took the ID and CC, and asked "Is this good?" about the $20. I said "yeah, it's good", and he dropped it down on top of his computer monitor. Room looks out to the Bellagio and down the strip. | ||||||||||
| By: tbf So easy! | ||||||||||
| By: R.K. Had no luck with the lady who checked me in. I got the standard line "... we're fully booked" and the fact that I was staying a week didn't help. Note: This was at the Golden Nugget which is not shown in your options | ||||||||||
| By: Kevin It was very easy to do. I just slid my credit card to the clerk with a $20 bill under it and asked if he had any upgrades available. He looked in the computer and he said yes. That was it. | ||||||||||

| By: Kurt Not a problem at all. A Twenty along with my ID and credit card. No need to be sly, the guy knew exactly what to do. I asked, he took a moment, pocketed the 20, typed and then said, I have something really nice for you. I certainly was. His efforts were well worth the 20 and I'm sure he was appreciative of the tip as well | ||||||||||
| By: JohnnyVegas Did the $20 between the cc and dl. Was given a 22nd floor Celeb suite with Jacuzzi!! | ||||||||||
